Dr. Hu speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese. He is a primary healthcare provider licensed by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance - California Acupuncture Board.  He is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Herbology) certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He is a teaching staff at South Baylo University, one of the largest Oriental Medicine universities in the US. Due to his extensive knowledge in Acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and his dedication in whatever he does, he is beloved by his students. He is an herbalist and medical acupuncturist, receiving extensive training from Dr. Chen Yong Ching, a renowned TCM master in Taiwan, who had over 65 years of  medical experience.

There was quite a story behind Dr. Hu's motivation to learn TCM when he was barely 15 years old.  He started having asthma attacks when he was a third grader.  His asthma worsened significantly as he turned teens.  He was constantly brought to emergency rooms due to sudden and severe asthma attacks.  He was hospitalized numerous times due to prolonged asthmatic conditions.  He was declared by the doctors as “dangerously close to death”, similar to the phrase “code blue” used by hospitals in U.S., four times.  Though he survived magically, as he claims, through prayers every time, his asthma was taking hold.  Because of constant absences from classes, barely 2 months into his 10th grade, he was forced by his illness to withdraw from school.  Despaired, his parents finally brought him to Dr. Chen Yong Chin. Through his care by using the three most important modalities of TCM, namely Chinese Herbal Medicine, Medical Acupuncture, and Nei Dan Gong (a form of Chi Gong/Qi Kong which emphasizes on the internal circulations of Qi, or Chi), 6 months latter, Dr. Hu was finally asthma free and healthy again, a dramatic turnaround.  Intrigued by TCM’s healing power, he “begged” Dr. Chen many times to take him in as his private pupil and was eventually accepted. Latter, he stayed with his master for eight years and learned ins and outs of TCM before he came to the U.S.

Dr. Hu's pastime is reading - reading the numerous TCM books and digging the hidden treasure and endless knowledge accumulated in the past 3000 years by the ancient TCM masters. His greatest joy comes from the healing of his patients, especially when seeing his depressed patients smile again and when patients throw away the walking cane and yell "No more pain! I can walk again! I can walk again!".  Dr. Hu's greatest satisfaction comes from his teaching. It empowers his students with more TCM knowledge to heal more people and more effectively. At the same time, it ensures the great TCM healing art can be kept and passed down along human history.
