Face Lift and Skin Rejuvenation

Though less well known in the west, TCM Cosmetology, an integrated part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with solid theoretical foundation and aesthetic philosophy, has been rooted in oriental culture for well over 3000 years.  Thousands of years’ extensive researches, developments, and accumulated profound beauty knowledge make it perhaps the most developed and complete natural cosmetology in the world.

TCM Cosemtology treats every individual as an organic whole.  Facial features, skin, hair and nail are only part of the overall. To make certain component perfect, for instance, a beautiful facial skin, we not only need to focus on the issues of a specific area, but also seek a comprehensive balance of the whole body, stability of the viscera, patency of channels of qi, and unimpeded circulation of qi and blood.  It is noteworthy that channels of qi and vital energy, also called Meridian, must remain potent to have a beautiful healthy skin.  If they are blocked due to an imbalance or diminished with natural aging, facial skin, its collagen and underlying muscles will be deprived of nutrient and vital supply. The results are sallow or loose skin, wrinkles and blemishes.

TCM Cosmetology focuses on holistic conditioning, so the effect can be lasting and perennial. The treatment includes cosmetic acupuncture, personalized herbal medicine (for both external application and internal intake), proper diet consultation, tuina (TCM therapeutic massage), and qi gong coaching.

Each treatment plan consists of 10 sessions.  Each session lasts up to two hours.  Two sessions per week is highly recommended.

First Time 20 Minutes Consultation Free.

Treatment Plan:  10 Sessions, 2 Sessions per Week, $1450

Weight Control

Do you have too good an appetite?  Do you eat little but still gain weight?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) views and treats obesity quite differently from western medicine.  In TCM’s point of view, if all integral parts of one’s body are in harmony, body weight will be adjusted naturally. Thus a stable and healthy weight will persist. In most cases, overweight is just a symptom and a manifestation of a imbalance caused by some other obvious or hidden problems.

For instance, obesity can be caused by an insatiable appetite, which can be caused by “extra fire” in the stomach.  And in turn, the extra fire, or excessive yang, can be caused by emotional instability or eating too much spicy food.

For people who don’t eat much but is still overweight, often they would feel tired and listless too. In this case, it can be caused by insufficient digestion function.  In turn, the inadequate digestion system can be caused by deficient qi (vital energy and etc.) or yang (the needed fire).  And again, qi deficiency can be caused by many factors.  These factors include other sickness, overwork (either physically or mentally), improper diet, emotion (especially sadness), genetic, congenital (mainly from malnutrition), and many others.

In western medicine point of view, obesity equals to accumulated fat.  In TCM, fat is no longer just fat. It is some harmful, sticky, and difficult to expel waste product.  After TCM treatment, once an imbalance is corrected and normal visceral function is restored, the waste product (fat) will be eliminated by one’s own body naturally.

In Dao Wellness, both the symptom (overweight) and the root of the problem will be treated. The treatment includes lifestyle consultation, body balance (both physical and mental) evaluation, medical acupuncture, personalized herbal medicine, proper diet consultation, tuina (TCM therapeutic massage), and qi gong coaching.

Each treatment plan is 4 week.  Each session lasts up to one hour.  One to two sessions per week is recommended.

Detox and Whole Body Cleansing

Due to the increasing toxicity of our environment, an otherwise healthy body can be easily thrown into an imbalanced state. Pollutants we breathe in, chemicals and toxins in the food and drug we take, and poisonous wastes produced by our own bodies and accumulated while we were sick can all overwhelm our bodies’ natural cleansing mechanism. Once our own natural cleansing ability is impaired, though all the tests may still show us that we are healthy, we can have the following symptoms:

·       Heaviness of head, limbs, or the whole body without being overweight

·       Fatigue in the early morning

·       Unexplained listlessness

·       Joint and muscle pain or weakness

·       Irritability, anxiety, occasional insomnia

·       Depression, insensibility, or indifference to once interested

·       Foggy head, difficulty concentrating, or bad memory

·       Bad breath, poor digestion, constipation, diarrhea, or bloating

·       Unexpected weight gain or difficulty gaining weight

·       Acne, or facial skin eruptions

·       Frequent infection or allergy

·       Repeated yeast/fungal infections

Shortened life span and sicknesses like cancer, infertility, gene defects, autism, autoimmune diseases, chronic degenerative and painful conditions have long been attributed to environmental toxins and harmful chemicals.

At Dao Wellness, our goal is to help you expel toxins, restore your natural cleansing mechanism, and regain a balanced wellness.  Detox program includes body balance (both physical and mental) evaluation, medical acupuncture, personalized herbal tea, proper diet consultation, tuina (TCM therapeutic massage), and qi gong coaching.

Each session lasts up to one hour.

Fertility Enhancement

TCM manipulates the flow of Qi using acupuncture, and using Chinese herbs to nourish, support and strengthen the Qi and the vital fluids (including blood), as well as the internal organs. Using these natural fertility techniques, the possibility of conception is optimized.

Women are often physically and emotionally depleted and have constrained energy that causes blockages, particularly in the pelvis. These blockages may have presented as painful menstrual cramps, endometriosis, fibroid tumors, PMS symptoms, irregular cycles, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and so on. Later in life, these disharmonies may result in difficulties with fertility by affecting different parts of the reproductive cycle - production of the egg, fertilization of the egg and implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus. Similar energy disturbances in men may result in poor sperm production (low sperm counts), shape or motility. TCM seeks to address these problems with time tested methodologies.

Treatment Plan: 25 Week, 2 Treatments/week
